The Manor House Nursing and Residential Home Celebrates Platinum Award of National Gold Standards Framework

The Manor House Nursing & Residential Home in Chatburn, Clitheroe has celebrated their Platinum level National Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation. This is the third GSF accreditation for The Manor House, who has achieved ‘platinum’ status after upholding the stringent GSF standards continually since 2011. They are the only care home to hold the standard in the local area, and only one of five in the Northwest region to be awarded.
The GSF is a leading national standard and gives outstanding training to all those providing end of life care to ensure better lives for people along with recognised standards of care. It is also the leading provider of training in end of life care for frontline care staff.
Cath Mellin, Registered Manager of The Manor House commented, “With end of life care you only have one chance to get it right. We have a strong team of individuals and work as one big extended family to give our residents the best experience we can, right up to their final days. Receiving this accolade again demonstrates our ongoing commitment to giving the highest standards of care and we look forward to continuing our ongoing development with the GSF. ”
As well as upholding the stringent GSF standards, The Manor House also implements numerous innovative projects to benefit their residents’ lives. These include the Red Bag Scheme, which ensures easy recognition of care home residents on the acute pathway with a stand out ‘Red Bag’. This, along with standardised documentation and clear processes is proven to improve patient outcomes when they are in the hospital setting. The care home also has access to ‘Telemedicine’ via Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, a remote access tool to a bank of health professionals who can provide advice without the need for unnecessary and potentially stressful visits to external medical settings.
